Birthdays are a big deal to me and even though I always stress out the months before with plans, it's never what I expect it to be. For this birthday, I really wanted to make sure I was surrounded with lots of laughs, love and adventure. This girls/birthday trip to Puerto Rico did not disappoint. Year 25 was filled with many lessons and I was determined to start 26 off the right way. Within the last year, I had been mentally and emotionally drained working at my corporate job (which I quit without having a job), my boyfriend at the time decided to end things, was unemployed for 2 months and had to move back home. With the referral of a college roommate, I was offered the opportunity of a lifetime to move to San Diego, California 2 months before my birthday. Moving across the country was not easy, but it was so worth it. I loved everything that year 25 taught me and I wouldn't change a thing, but I am ready for a year of self love, growth and nurturing my passions again. Hence why I am finally starting my blog journey. I think it is so important to do and find what makes you happy and style has always done that for me.

This girls trip was perfect from beginning to end; I have some of the most beautiful friends inside and out. As a child, I didn't get a chance travel much and this trip just really helped me realize the importance of traveling and what it does for the soul. Traveling and experiencing another culture is medicine for the soul and helps you to reset; I am so grateful to be able to do so with great friends. I checked some things off from my bucket list; horse back riding on the beach, ATV ride through the mountains, salsa dancing and not making a fool of myself, boat tour/snorkeling and experiencing authentic Puerto Rican food. Puerto Rico was absolutely stunning; from the amazing blue beaches to the cobbled streets lined with colorful buildings. It's a photographer's dream.
